Information
The Italy Visa Application Centre accepts applications for short term (Schengen) visa for residents of Abu Dhabi Emirate (Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions) i.e. valid UAE visa issued by the Abu Dhabi Government.
The purpose of this visa is to travel to Italy as a tourist, either by taking a trip organized by a tour operator, or through individual booking of tickets and accommodation.
If traveling in more than one Schengen Country, please make sure that your longest stay (counting by night spent) is in Italy. If the days of stay are the same in more than one country, please be sure that Italy is the first country of entry.

Once received by the Visa Application Centre, applications will be sent to the Embassy of Italy in Abu Dhabi the next working day.
Note: The processing time for assessment of a Schengen visa at the Embassy of Italy varies according to the nationality of the applicant and the period of the year in which the application is given - summer period being the slowest.
Applicant’s lack of Travel plan will not fall on Embassy priority to process your visa. It is advisable to plan your travel well in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
Submission of the required documentation does not automatically guarantee visa issuance.

Note:-
- Above mentioned Visa Fees to be paid in Cash at BLS Visa Application Center in Abu Dhabi.
- Applicants will be paying a service fee of Euro 16.80 (inclusive of VAT) (67.69 AED).
- The applicable Visa Fee and Service fee are as per the current rate of exchange set by the Embassy of Italy. They are subject to change every quarter.

Document Requirements
According to the new rules imposed by the Schengen regulation, all applicants' passports must have the holder's signature. Some Indonesian and Vietnamese passports do not have the signature of their holder. Passports that do not require a signature or that do not have a space dedicated to a signature will require a signature from the holder and countersigned by the Embassy of their country present in UAE, or they need to be made new with the signature affixed. Therefore, make sure that all visa applicants' passports have their signature clearly displayed on them.

Photo Specifications
The photo must:
Applicants need to submit their Application form with the new photo format, as explained below:
General
the photo must fulfill the norm specified by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).
- Use plain light-colored background.
- The photo must be no more than 6-months old.
- Not tilted picture (portrait style) showing both edges of face clearly.
- Close up of the head and top of the shoulders so that the face takes up 70–80% of the photograph.
- Photo in sharp focus and clear.
Photo Size
the photo for each visa applicant submitted must measure:
- The picture dimensions must be 240 pixels wide by 320 pixels high at least. A smaller picture will be rejected. For instance, a photo being 235 pixels by 320 pixels is not valid.
- On the other hand, the photo should keep a proportion of 3.5 x 4.5 (width x height) within limits. However, 250 x 340 pixels picture would be valid, but not a 290 x 340 pixels one.
- Finally, the image weight (size in Kbytes) can never be bigger than 120 Kbytes.
Processing Time
The time needed to process your visa application might be extended up to 15 calendar days (45 days under particular circumstances pursuant to art. 23 of the Visa Code), and the passport will not be returned until the final decision on the visa is adopted. Applicants are requested to plan the trip accordingly.
The Visa Office will process only applications submitted no more than six months before the intended travel date and no later than 15 calendar days before the intended travel date. Applications submitted without compliance with the said time limits will be deemed unacceptable and immediately returned to the applicant by the BLS International’s Staff. Furthermore, it must be noted that any fees paid to book the appointment will not be reimbursed.
The processing time for assessment of a Schengen visa will be up to the Embassy of Italy.
Dependent on the category of visa application, the Italian Embassy usually aims to return visa applications within 1 week. The visa applications are assessed individually and processing times may vary and result in longer decision times. Due to this the Embassy of Italy in Abu Dhabi cannot guarantee the outcome or guarantee the return of passport and documents within a certain timeframe.
